What Happens When You Start Listening to Yourself?

Sometimes, the beginning of a new journey is simply the feeling that something inside you is asking for a change.
Have you ever felt that there must be something more to life, even when, from the outside, everything seems to be just as it should be?
That feeling is not always easy to explain. Sometimes it is restlessness. Sometimes it is a sense of incompleteness, a curiosity about what else might be out there, or simply a desire for something to change, without knowing exactly what that something is.
I know that feeling.
For me, it wasn't about having all the answers or knowing where I wanted to go. It was more about feeling curious, wanting change, and wondering what else life might have waiting for me.
I don't think we always need to know what we are looking for before we begin searching. Sometimes, we just need to be willing to listen to that little voice inside us, even when we don't fully understand what it is trying to tell us.
Sometimes, others see something in us before we do
My journey into sound healing began in a rather lovely way.
A friend of mine kept telling me that whenever she saw me, I seemed to be completely immersed in sound. She could see something in me that I hadn't quite put into words myself. Eventually, following her suggestion, I decided to attend my first sound healing course.
And that was where I discovered just how beautiful it could be.
Sometimes, we don't realise how naturally something fits into our lives until we actually experience it. We can spend years being curious about different things, following little interests here and there, without knowing where they might lead us.
Looking back, perhaps those interests were all little pieces of a bigger picture. I didn't need to understand the whole picture straight away. I just needed to allow myself to explore.
And that is something I am still learning.
You don't need to have all the answers
I think we put so much pressure on ourselves to know what we are doing, where we are going and what our next step should be.
We want a plan. We want certainty. We want to know that the choices we make will lead us somewhere good.
But what if we allowed ourselves a little more space to simply be curious?
What if we accepted that some answers only come with time, experience and the willingness to try something new?
I am learning that a journey doesn't have to be perfectly planned to be meaningful. We can change direction. We can discover things about ourselves that surprise us. We can outgrow old versions of ourselves and find new interests, new passions and new ways of looking at the world.
And we don't have to have it all figured out to take the next step.
The people we meet along the way
One of the things I find beautiful about life's journey is the people we meet along the way.
Some people come into our lives and walk beside us for years. Others are there for a particular chapter, helping us see something differently, encouraging us to take a chance or simply reminding us of something we had forgotten about ourselves.
And sometimes, people leave.
That can be difficult, especially when we thought they would always be part of our story. But I am beginning to appreciate that our paths are not always meant to stay intertwined forever.
People change. We change. Our needs, dreams and directions change, too.
And perhaps there is something beautiful in allowing that to happen. We can appreciate what someone brought into our lives without needing them to stay there forever. We can be grateful for a chapter, even when it ends, and remain open to the people and experiences still waiting to find us.
We don't always understand why certain things happen when they do. Maybe we never will. But not knowing doesn't mean that our journey has lost its meaning.
A journey of your own
Sound of Light is part of my own journey of discovery, learning and change. It is an opportunity for me to share something that has become meaningful to me and to create a space where others can take a little time for themselves, too.
I don't believe that any of us has all the answers. I certainly don't.
I am still learning, exploring and discovering new things about myself and the world around me. And I think that is part of what makes this journey so beautiful.
My hope is that, through sound healing and the work I share, you might find a little space to pause, reconnect with yourself and listen to what you need in that moment. Your experience will be your own, just as your journey is yours.
You don't need to know exactly where you are going.
You don't need to have everything figured out.
You don't even need to know what comes next.
Perhaps all you need is the willingness to take one small step, to stay curious and to give yourself permission to explore.
Because life is not just about reaching a destination. It is also about the things we discover, the people we meet, the people we let go of, and the ways we grow along the way.
And sometimes, the most beautiful part of the journey begins when we finally give ourselves permission to listen.
Your journey. Your light. Let's walk it together.
